Lutari Talisman Beads

You can view your talisman and the beads you have collected by clicking here. There is also a link from your user lookup. If you do not see a talisman on your user lookup, or the link above doesn't work for you, then it means that you do not have USA set as your country of residence in your profile. It will only work for people living in America.

Why is it just for Americans? Because Lutari Island itself can be accessed only from the Neopets Mobile service, which is available just in the US.

There are five different bead shapes, and each shape can be found in four different colours. Each colour has its own effects when placed on your Talisman.

If you sign up for Neopets Mobile by clicking someone's referral link, or you refer someone who subscribes, then a Tongi Bead will automatically be added to your Talisman. For the next 3 referrals, you will get the remaining three colors of the Tongi Bead added to your talisman. After you have all 4 Tongi Beads, each referral after that will earn you a random bead of a random color. You can not buy Tongi Beads anywhere as they are automatically added to your Talisman through referral.

Having these beads on your Talisman can randomly increase the neopoints you earn from games or randomly decreases the price of items sold in Neopets Shops (not the shops you find using the shop wizard). TNT has hinted that the Lutari Talisman is extremely 'lucky', so it can be assumed that having more beads on your Talisman will also increase the chances of winning something from places like the Fruit Machine or Coltzan's Shrine, as well as increasing the chance of getting random events as you browse around Neopets (these random events are reported not to have been experienced before using the talisman).

The downside to these beads is that they're extremely expensive. They can range from 175,000nps to over a million neopoints, depending on the type of bead and its color. If you buy the whole set of 16 beads (this number excludes the 4 Tongi Beads that you can't buy anywhere) for roughly 5 million neopoints (could be more depending on how you went about buying them), it could take a really long time to get back what you put in, that's assuming that you're taking advantage of the talisman's effects by playing games every day and restocking very very often.

But if you're an avid fan of the Lutari Island game and can refer a lot more people who will subscribe to the game then collecting these beads will definitely be worth it.
