Owning a Gallery
Do you have a collection of petpets? Paintbrushes? Or any rare item that you just want to show off but don't want to put it in your shop? Well guess WHAT?! There's a new option....own a gallery!
Getting Started
Ok, if you want to start a gallery, you have to do the following. There's no option on the sidebar that says "gallery" so go to shops, go to your shop, then there will
be a bunch of link. There will be two rows of links and on the last row at the end, there's a link called Item Gallery. Click on that. There will be a small intro to Galleries and at the end it should say
Sound interesting? If you want to create a new gallery, click here to learn more and get started. Just like shops, there's Gallery name, setting, description, gallery keeper, and of course name and greeting.
When choosing a gallery keeper, make sure it's transparent so there will not be a white box around it. In my opinion, it just looks better. Anyway,
when you have figured that all out...no...don't click just YET. Make sure you have 150np ^_^. Done that? Click "Create Gallery." Congratz! You have just created a gallery!
Gallery Categories
This section is for those of you who don't have a specific type of item in their gallery. What I mean is, you have a mix of items like, bottled faeries and codestones. You just click on, "Create and Edit a Theme Category" and a picture of a cybunny should come up. Underneath there should be a white bar where you can type in the name of your category such as "Painbrushes" or "Pet pets." Don't worry, if you make a mistake, you can always delete or edit your categories. Now, the items aren't automatically put into those categories...that's the next step!
Putting Items in your Gallery
Another feature like shop, when you go into your inventory, you click on an item and there is option to put it in your gallery. Put as many items as you desire in your gallery. Now go back to your gallery and you'll see those items in your gallery front, but they aren't categorised yet. If you click on the drop down menu under the item's picture, you can choose which category you want them in. When you have chosen which category you want each item to go into, click submit. Voila! Your items are neatly organized! Well, not quite...
Ranking your Items
When you randomly put items in your categories, they are just put in the order they are put in their category. You have to order them yourself. After you had clicked submit, you can now click "Rank Items in Categories." You should see all of your categories listed under your gallery keeper. Click on the one you want to rank first. You'll see a white box under the item's picture once again. There you can put in a number for instance, put "1" in the box if you want that item to be shown first. Again, once you have ranked your items, click submit.
Finishing Touches
You have your items, ranked and organized but when you look at it, your gallery doesn't look very interesting. Well guess what? You can spice it up a bit! Like a shop, you can add blogs. You can get some blogs when you click on "Shop Blogs" (Don't like those? Well you can most certainly get them from Neo-Reality or any other site.) which is one of the links above your gallery keeper. Copy the code and go to Edit Description in your Gallery. Paste the code where there is a big white box to type in. Press "Update Gallery." Also, a neat little touch up to your categories is to put in a background and put a table around your items and description. Go to "Create and Edit a Theme Category" and there should be a list of your categories. Look under "Edit Theme" and click "Hand Crafted." You can type in css into the big white box to make a dotted box around your items! However, if you don't know to code CSS, just click "preset form" in the paragraph above the textarea. (The big white space) Here you can choose border styles, backgrounds, and even font colors! Done? Click "Submit!"
Afterwords
Click on "Main" and then click on "View as Guest" next to My Gallery. Congratz on making a spiffy looking gallery! Now you'll have an extra link on your userlookup where people can look in and admire your items, not to mention the layout itself! Just remember, galleries are like shops, you STILL have to pay if you want your gallery to fit more items!
