Scanlines

Sometimes known as blinds, scanlines can go diagonally, vertically or horizonatally and can be any color

Part One
1. Open up a new document 5 x 5 with a transparent background
2. Zoom in as far as you can
3. Select a brush/pencil that is 1 pixel and draw a line diagonally (you can experiment later) in whatever color you like. White and black work best
4. Now, go to Edit>>Define Pattern. Okay, now we have our scanline pattern

Part Two

1. Open up your selected image
2. Go to Edit>>Fill
3. When the dialog box pops up, open the dropdown menu and select Pattern
4. Next to the text Custom Pattern, there should be a small preview box and another arrow. Click it
5. Find your pattern and cick OK

Well done! You've just added scanlines to your image. Now, instead of using 5 you can use other sizes and other colors. Have fun! Any queries can be emailed to me.

NOTE: Text over scanlines sometimes does not look very good, but if you choose the right color and it should look just fine
